RPM of the first Release Candidate of the new major version of Mozilla Foundation messaging client is available in remi-test for Fedora ≥ 12.

As this is not yet the stable version, a backup of your profiles seems mandatory (.thunderbird folder)
As always:
yum --enablerepo=remi-test update thunderbird
enigmail (version 1.1) extension is also available.
lightning extension will come soon... Lire Thunderbird 3.1 RC1
