OCS Inventory NG version 2.0.2 is out. RPM are available in remi-test repository (Fedora ≥ 10 and RHEL / CentOS). It is a major update.

Open Computer and Software Inventory Next Generation is an application designed to help a network or system administrator keep track of the computers configuration and software that are installed on the network.

I have differed update from version 1.3.3 to version 2.0 or 2.0.1 because of bundled libraries and license incompatibility which are now fixed.

Of course, install could be done using YUM :
yum --enablerepo=remi,remi-test install ocsinventory

RPM of the extension to make remote inventory of VMWare vCenter/ESX/ESXi  from FusionInventory Agent is available in remi repository...

Installation
yum --enablerepo=remi install perl-FusionInventory-Agent-Task-ESXInventory can be handled manually, using the fusioninventory-esx command, or from the fusion plugin for GLPI.

This new version requires new dependencies which are not (yet) available in EPEL, so you will have to also install them from my repository:

perl-POE-Component-Client-DNS
perl-POE-Component-Client-Keepalive... Lire perl-FusionInventory-Agent-Task-OcsDeploy-1.1

The RPM of the new version of the inventory agent from FusionInventory is available in remi repository for fedora and Enterprise Linux (Redhat, Centos, Oracle, Scientific Linux...).

This fork of the unified agent ocsinventory-agent (by the main developer) still absolutely compatible with the OCS Inventory NG server.

As always for installtion:
yum --enablerepo=remi install fusioninventory-agentFor configuration of the cron task or service, edit the file: /etc/sysconfig/fusioninventory-agent (comments should be enough for explanation)
In this new RPM version, the cron mode (which is enough for inventory) and the daemon mode (mandatory for next features) are... Lire fusioninventory-agent-2.1
